What i said was "What's the point of giving up my wolf for a crappy 250xp or whatever it is?" If you want that experiance really bad though, there are warthogs in post searing, but I don't think they appear until Kryta.

yeah i didnt much wanna give up my level 20 wolf for a quest in post searing either, but i finally did, it isnt a big deal really because pets level up very fast later in the game, my bear got from 6 to 20 in one day, and yes you can get hogs in post searing.

It seems to me that quest was put in there for people who run through Pre-Searing. Your rewards are all skills that you should have received from previous quests. 250XP may not seem like much, but it's worth it, especially if you are trying to complete every quest in the game. As mentioned before, it isn't too difficult to get a new pet and have it level up. You'll probably end up wanting a lizard, bear, or spider later in the game anyway.

wait, Ivan Trueshot? Don't you mean Master Ranger Nente (or however his name is spelt)? He's the one who gives you the quest to go charm a Melandru's Stalker.. and the quest does give you a skill you can't get in pre-searing - Hunter's Shot.
It's worth doing if you want hunter's shot and don't want to have to use a skill point for it when you get to Yak's Bend. As for pets - pet's do level up pretty darned fast.. and if you want a pet wolf, wait till you get to yak's bend... release him and do the quest for your 250 xp & hunter's Shot then go tame a Snow Wolf and level it up. You keep your wolf (albiet it starts off lower level and different "name") and saved yourself a skill point.. |
